The brief
Alec Jarrett Ltd is a family business which was founded in 1926 when they began supplying local butcher shops and expanded over the years to now supply all sectors of retail, catering and manufacturing in the UK and Europe.
As a consequence of their continued growth, the owners of Alec Jarrett recognised a need for increased chiller space at their factory in Bristol.
Previously all expansion and fit-out projects have been dealt with in-house but due to high demand for their products it was not possible to manage ongoing business operations as well as effectively oversee this coldstore project.
Our solution
Having identified a suitable area of their site and with a ground up build in mind, Alec Jarrett needed an experienced partner who could provide a full turnkey approach to the project from initial scoping and design through to handover of a new coldstore.
With a lot of different elements included in this chiller extension project it was important that our client could have a partner who would take care of project management, site welfare, waste removal, hire equipment and risk assessment method statements (RAMS), giving them complete peace of mind that the project would be delivered on time and with zero disruption to the business.
Works included the supply and erection of a steel frame, PIR white walling, installation of refrigeration equipment, a weatherproof PU resin cove, strip curtains and fire doors as well as electrical supplies and LED lighting.
Summary
It was great to work with Alec Jarret on this project; the result is fantastic, and we hope this increased space helps to support their ongoing expansion around the UK and Europe.
