The brief
Established in 1956, AD Harvey specialise in the depopulation, transportation and processing of British end of lay hens, with an unwavering dedication to the highest quality standards in animal welfare, biosecurity and food safety.
With a current high demand for their poultry products, AD Harvey needed assistance with the expansion of their factory involving a two phase extension to house a new live bird receipt area and waste handling facility. Being a highly trusted family business in their market, their service and reputation could not be put at risk, so the aim was to improve biosecurity and welfare of all poultry on site whilst also improving the local environment.
Our solution
AD Harvey chose Oakley as their partner for this project as we too are a trusted family business, and they valued our expertise and straightforward approach to the project to ensure it was completed successfully with minimal impact on day-to-day operations.
Underpinned by our simple methodology of design, build, deliver, Oakley set out a clear, detailed project program split over two phases to give AD Harvey clear visibility right through to project completion.
For this expansion project we covered the full scope of works including; ground works and oversite, steel frame and connections, drainage and civils including concrete kerbing, resin flooring, white walling, LED lighting, roller shutter doors and PIR pedestrian doors as well as protection such as barriers and bollards.
Summary
With this project complete, AD Harvey are able to increase the production of their poultry products whilst keeping quality and welfare standards high.
It was a pleasure to work with the AD Harvey team to bring their expansion project to life which we hope will benefit their operations in the years to come.
